This work contains more than 120 pages long and has more than 120 Color and black and white photographs - The author has been a photographer for more than 40 years and has had thousands of his images published, nationally and internationally, in books and periodicals. All photographs herein were taken by the author.The San Xavier Mission is located about nine miles southwest of Tucson, Arizona. To get there from downtown Tucson take I-10 south to I-19 and exit at exit 92 west. The mission is about one mile from the exit on the west side of the highway.Known as the "White Dove of the Desert," it was built at a centuries-old Indian settlement of the Native Americans Tohono O'odham people (formerly known as Papago). In 1692 the Jesuit missionary Eusebio Francisco Kino, founded the mission as well as others in the Sonoran Desert chain. The original mission church was located about two miles away from the current mission and was vulnerable to Apache Indian attacks and was finally destroyed by them around 1770.The photographer currently has fine art photography on exhibit at The Center for Fine Arts in Globe, Arizona. In addition, the author is represented by more than a dozen agencies and all of these images have appeared in publications around the world.
